F6C Commerce Ltd (“F6C”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website f6commerce.com and the F6C Auto Shopify application (“F6C Auto”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you visit our website, use our services, or install F6C Auto on your Shopify store.

By accessing f6commerce.com or installing F6C Auto, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

F6C Commerce Ltd is a digital commerce agency and software company registered in Nigeria. We build and operate DTC e-commerce solutions for brands across Africa.

3. What Data We Collect

3.1 Website Visitors (f6commerce.com)

When you visit our website, we may collect:

  • Pages visited and time spent on site
  • Referral source (how you found us)

3.2 F6C Auto — Merchant Data

When a Shopify merchant installs F6C Auto, we collect and process the following data from their store:

  • Store name, Shopify domain, and store owner email
  • WhatsApp Business API credentials provided by the merchant (Phone Number ID, Business Account ID, Access Token)
  • App configuration settings and automation preferences
  • Subscription plan and billing status

3.3 F6C Auto — Customer Data (Processed on Behalf of Merchants)

To deliver automated WhatsApp messages on behalf of merchants, we process the following end-customer data:

  • Customer name and phone number
  • Delivery address
  • Order details including items, order number, and order value
  • Checkout and abandoned cart data
  • WhatsApp message delivery status (sent, delivered, failed)

We process this data as a data processor acting on the merchant’s behalf. The merchant is the data controller for their customers’ information. We do not use customer data for any purpose other than delivering the services requested by the merchant.

4. How We Use Your Data

4.1 Website

  • To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form
  • To understand how visitors use our website and improve it
  • To send project updates or proposals if you have engaged us for work

4.2 F6C Auto

  • To authenticate and configure your WhatsApp Business API connection
  • To send automated WhatsApp messages on your behalf (order confirmations, fulfillment updates, COD verification, abandoned cart reminders, retention campaigns)
  • To log message delivery status and surface it in your dashboard
  • To manage your app subscription and billing
  • To provide technical support and troubleshoot issues

We do not sell, rent, or share your data or your customers’ data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

F6C Auto integrates with the following third-party services to function:

Shopify

E-commerce platform providing order and customer data via their API. Governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy.

Meta (WhatsApp Business API)

Used to send WhatsApp messages. Message content passes through Meta's infrastructure. Governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.

DigitalOcean

Our cloud infrastructure provider. Servers are hosted in the US/EU region. Governed by DigitalOcean's Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services for information on how they handle data.

6. Data Storage and Security

All data processed by F6C Auto is stored on DigitalOcean servers located in the US/EU region. We apply industry-standard security practices including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only
  • Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your information.

7. Data Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide our services:

  • Message logs are retained for up to 90 days and can be cleared at any time from your dashboard
  • Store configuration data is retained for the duration of your app installation and deleted within 30 days of uninstallation
  • Website contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months

If you uninstall F6C Auto, we will process a deletion of your store data in accordance with Shopify’s mandatory GDPR webhook requirements (customers/redact, shop/redact).

8. Shopify GDPR Compliance

As a Shopify app, F6C Auto complies with Shopify’s mandatory data protection requirements:

  • Customer data request — merchants can request all customer data we hold via support
  • Customer data deletion — we process customer data redaction requests received from Shopify
  • Shop data deletion — upon app uninstallation, all store data is scheduled for deletion

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — request corrections to inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Right to restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data
  • Right to data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format

10. Cookies

F6C Auto does not use cookies in the Shopify admin interface beyond those set by Shopify itself.
